Southies 90’s Club Enormous Success!
The ‘Southies 90’s Club’ at Windsor South Public School has been an enormous success!
Started two years ago, it aims to reward students with an end of year fun day, if their yearly attendance is over 90%.
In the two years that this amazing initiative has run, 90% yearly attendance has grown from a small 35% of students to OVER 70%! Just think about all that extra education being received, simply for making the effort to come to school every day.
This success is due to all of the hard working staff, led by Principal Belinda Bristol, and yesterday, in conjunction with Richmond Lions Club, the ‘90’s club’ kids (and their parents), received a sausage sizzle and a gift, which is where a majority of the toys kindly given to this year’s Mayoral Christmas Appeal, were donated.
In addition, Windsor South PS is linked with Amy from The Smith Family, who provides ongoing educational grants to families to help cover school costs under the ‘Learning for Life’ program.
Congratulations to Windsor South PS for such a wonderful day, filled with joy, community spirit and optimism for the future.
