Rachael Stapleton Water Skier
Rachael Stapleton aged 26 is a local girl who has grown up on the Hawkesbury River and has been waterskiing since she was 4 and started ski racing at the age of 12.
During her 9 years of racing her best results have to date been 1st Place Junior World Title in Spain, 2nd Place Women’s F2 World Title in New Zealand and 4 consecutive annual 1st Place wins in Open Women’s Catalina Island Ocean Race USA from 2016 to 2019 as well as many other achievements along the way.
After a few years break Rachael is back and has competed in the Australian Selection Races for 2023 Worlds Ski Racing Championships and has successfully qualified to represent Australia as NO 1 F1 Open Women’s Class Skier to compete with her Team consisting of Driver Jason Walmsley a previous Open Men’s World Champion, Observer Kevin Boyland who has several World titles as an observer and the owner of the boat Team Coldys F1, 24 year old Jack Coldrake who is competing in F1 Open Men’s Class. All of these competitors are local Hawkesbury River Residents and river users and will be competing against other Australian Team Members and other competitors from around the World.
The 2023 World Ski Racing Championships will be held at Gosford on the Brisbane Waters with the event running from the 9th to the 19th November, 2023.
