NOMINATE A MUM

We all know a wonderful mum, now is your chance to highlight to the community the wonderful things they do.

Norwest Sunrise Rotary Club is asking people to send in nominations to their Mother’s Day competition. It could be the little things your mum does in your life that make a big difference or it could be the mothering role someone has taken on to make a difference to a lot of people in the community.

Tell us who you want to nominate, and why, in less than 250 words. We will also need their name and contact details as well as your own. Email to: Jeremy Carter at [email protected] by April 30.

The winners will be announced at our Combined Wisdom Mother’s Day Breakfast on Thursday, May 9.

ARTY BREAKFAST

The breakfast will celebrate the amazing mums in the community and will be hosted at the Cranebrook Residences in Kellyville. Also at the breakfast will be two of Australia’s leading female artists, Sharon Davson and Daisy Ann Gonzalez Cumming.

The two women have created a major piece of art together titled Combined Wisdom to celebrate creativity and friendship and cross-cultural partnerships.

Daisy Ann Gonzales Cumming is an honoured Philippine artist with paintings hanging in the NCCA Gallery in Manila and the Philippine Consulate in Australia. Sharon Davson is Australia’s most successful and recognised international female artist, holding the record for the highest sale price for a piece of artwork by a living Australian artist.

We will also be recognising some outstanding mothers in our local community with awards and sharing a summary of our most recent Rotary club project, Medicos Bolivia, saving lives and training doctors in South America.

Proceeds on the day will help purchase a specialised wheelchair for a student at The Hills School.
