New Boat Ramp At Wisemans Ferry Officially Opened

by Hills Mayor Peter Gangemi
Partnerships can create fantastic outcomes especially when the NSW Government, The Hills Shire Council and Hornsby Shire Council get involved.
Today was a shining example as I joined Phillip Ruddock, Mayor of Hornsby Shire Council and Dr Peter Gangemi – Mayor of The Hills Shire Council in opening this brand, spanking new three-lane boat ramp, making the river so much more accessible to both locals and tourists.
The project is valued at almost $4 million and I welcomed the NSW Government’s contribution of more than $2.1 million, under the Boating Now Program which has facilitated investments in almost 330 projects since 2014 to improve maritime infrastructure and facilities across NSW.
Alongside the ramp, this project also delivers a new pontoon, a car park with 163 bays for vehicles and boat trailers and 29 bays for single vehicles as well as a new amenities block.
Playground equipment is being expanded too.
Thanks to everyone who contributed towards this project and the support offered by Wisemans ferry community mens shed inc, Wisemans Ferry RFS, NSW Maritime, The Hills Shire Council, Transport for NSW, Hornsby Shire Council, Peppercorn Services and of course, the contractors.
In many ways, today’s opening, marks a major milestone in the flood recovery process.
There is still much more to be done, as the clean up quietly continues but the Wisemans Ferry community, are always there for their mates.
