Mayor Yvonne Keane congratulates TAFE Award recipient Priscilla Bingley

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Councillor Yvonne Keane congratulated Hills Shire Council employee Priscilla Bingley on her TAFE award during a special morning tea on Friday 19 May.

The horticulturalist was recently awarded the Top Parks and Gardens Apprentice and Excellence in Plant Knowledge Award by TAFE NSW for her high achievements in her course, Certificate III in Parks and Gardens.

Mayor Keane said she was very impressed by Priscilla’s dedication to her studies and her commitment to always doing an outstanding job.

“Priscilla is an inspiration to women everywhere,” Mayor Keane said.

“Not only has she succeeded in her studies, she has pursued a new career and job while raising four young children.

“That’s not an easy feat.

“I commend Priscilla on her award. She deserves our appreciation and our thanks on the wonderful work she does in our community.

“I wish her all the best in her studies and I can’t wait to see what’s next for her,” Mayor Keane added.

Priscilla has been employed at The Hills Shire Council for the past three years as a mature age apprentice.

Her work involves maintaining Council owned gardens and land within Castle Hill and Baulkham Hills to the highest of standards including the commercial and retail precincts within those areas.

Priscilla has now graduated from her studies and is now a member of The Australian Institute of Horticulture.

She is currently undertaking studies in landscape design to further develop her career here at Council.
