A man has been charged with allegedly displaying a Nazi swastika outside a war memorial in Castle Hill yesterday.

At about 7 pm, Monday, 24 February 2025, police were called to a war memorial on Wrights Road, Castle Hill, following reports a man was displaying a nazi symbol.

Officers attached to Castle Hill Police Area Command arrived to find a 31-year-old man with a Nazi swastika drawn on his chest.

He was arrested and taken to Castle Hill Police Station, where he was charged with knowingly display by public act Nazi symbol without excuse.

The man was granted strict conditional bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday, 19 March 2025.

The NSW Police Force takes hate crimes seriously and encourages anyone who is the victim of a hate crime or witnesses a hate crime to report the matter to police through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or through Triple Zero (000) in an emergency.

The police say it is important that the community and police continue working together to make NSW safer for everyone.
