Local Music Artist Wows Hills Seniors
On the Thursday preceding Christmas, the local Hills branch of National Seniors Australia staged their Members Christmas Party.
It was known by the membership that the Committee had decided to subsidise the party, but the membership was unaware of the other surprises in store for them.
On arrival at the party held at Baulkham Hills Sports Club they were each given a envelope containing a Christmas Card with a $10 note included.
This was in addition to the subsided party. An even bigger surprise was when 20 year old Charlie Chech of Cherrybrook arrived with his mother and started setting up a microphone and sound system.
Charlie is a lover of jazz and is also a very talented vocalist and as a performer has also appeared on stage in February 2020 with Michael Buble.
He now regularly appears on the club circuit around Australia. His style of music appealed to the members of National Seniors as he sang songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin. Nat King Cole and Louis Armstrong.
Many of the members of National Seniors made use of the $10 given to them by the organising committee in putting the money towards purchasing Charlie’s CD.
The organising committee of the local Hills branch of National Seniors and also Baulkham Hills Sporting Club deserve praise for the work and effort put in to a very enjoyable end of year event
