Kellyville United girls crowned Champion of Champions

Kellyville United FC were crowned Under-13 girls Champion of Champions after defeating Colo Soccer FC 2-0 in an entertaining final recently at Valentine Park, Glenwood.

Jessica Fardell and Macey Williams scored two quick goals within the space of five minutes after the break to put Kellyville in charge after a scoreless first half.

Kellyville United FC were the dominant team in the first half, with. Paige Ludvik twice coming close to putting them ahead. Jessica Fardell had the best chance of the half with her free kick floating over the bar from just outside the box.

After the interval, Kellyville United FC kept pushing for the opening goal, with Fardell seeing a free kick flicking past the left post.

Colo started to find their rhythm but it was The Hills team which broke the deadlock in the 55th minute, through the ever-dangerous Fardell, whose free kick looped over the goalkeeper.

Four minutes later, it was the turn of April Williams, who raced into the box and chipped an effort into the net for the match-winning lead. Kellyville United were the sole winners among the Hills District teams at this end of season Football NSW gala event.

West Pennant Hills-Cherrybrook FC finished runners-up in the All-Age Men’s event, going down 2-5 in the final to Pittwater RSL. Dash Ratnam and Andrew Zalunardo scored for West Pennant Hills – Cherrybrook FC.

The 53rd Football NSW’s Champion of Champions finals featured 17 exciting games and is grassroots football’s most prestigious tournament in NSW. Manly Warringah Football Association was the most successful club on the day, winning six titles.
