Jem’s Story
Bravely fighting for access to a life saving drug.
Jemma Juckes is a 34-year-old wife to Lang, stepmum to Riley, and a devoted fur-mum to George. In April 2023, her life was changed forever when she was diagnosed with stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer, a discovery that followed what initially seemed like simple sciatica pain.
Before cancer, Jemma and Lang had dreams of travelling and expanding their family. Now, she is fighting for her life, facing an aggressive diagnosis head-on. She’s navigated multiple rounds of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation, and trial treatments. Her resolve is unyielding, but now she needs help to continue her battle.
Jemma has been offered the opportunity to access a potentially life-saving drug, one that targets her rare cancer mutation. However, this treatment must be sourced overseas at an overwhelming cost of $10,000 per session every two weeks. The price is daunting, but the stakes couldn’t be higher—it’s a chance for Jemma to keep living life to its fullest.
To help make this a reality, Jemma’s brother-in-law, Gus, is stepping up in a big way. He’s taking on an extraordinary challenge, riding 1,000km to raise the funds needed for this treatment. But he can’t do it alone—he needs support from all who can lend a hand.
This is a fight for Jemma’s future. By sharing her story and donating, you can help her access the life-saving treatment she desperately needs. Together, we can transform hope into reality and give Jemma the chance to keep fighting for the future.
