INTERNATIONAL WEEK OF WOMEN 4TH TO 8TH MARCH 2019 – THEME BETTER BALANCE FOR

The future is exciting. Let’s build a gender-balanced world. Everyone has a part to play – all the time, everywhere. From grassroots activism to worldwide action, we are entering an exciting period of history where the world expects balance. We notice its absence and celebrate its presence. Balance drives a better world.

In the Hawkesbury services from across the region and Hawkesbury City Council are coming together to create a week of FREE events to acknowledge and celebrate women of all ages and walks of life. From Wellbeing Morning Teas, Honouring Afternoon Teas, ‘Girls Can Do Anything’ events, an Aboriginal Cultural Camp for women and children and a Community Celebration open to everyone on Friday 8th March. Talking on behalf of the planning group, Maria Losurdo from The Women’s Cottage says: “We welcome all local women and girls to come and be honoured and feel special at these events. And we welcome the whole the community, women and men to celebrate with us at the ‘International Women’s Day Community Celebration’: 10am12pm Friday 8th March at the Central Library, Deerubbin Centre Windsor.”
