History Talks by Hawkesbury Library Service
Bit by a history bug? Mark your diaries as the Hawkesbury Library Service has two talks on local history in-store starting Tuesday next week.
On Tuesday, 12 March 2024, Local History Librarian Michelle Nichols will host the online session, Boring to Brilliant: Enhancing Your Family, covering topics about taking family history to the next level. The session will be held on ZOOM from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Tickets cost $5 and can be booked online via Eventbrite: Boring to Brilliant – Enhance Your Family History.
On the other hand, in The Great North Road on Wednesday, 13 March, attendees can listen to local historian Elizabeth Roberts during the Hawkesbury Family History Group meeting.
“As the guest speaker, she will discuss this historic road, which was an extraordinary engineering feat of the early nineteenth century. Find out what life was like for the men working and building the road that linked the Hawkesbury with the north,” the Hawkesbury City Council mentioned.
Attending in person will not require an Eventbrite booking. If a person won’t be able to attend, those interested can still join online via Eventbrite: The Great North Road—HFHG ZOOM BOOKINGS.
The free event will run from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM. The Hawkesbury Central Library is located at 300 George Street in Windsor.
Both events are part of the Family and Local History collection by the Hawkesbury Library Service.
