The NSW Rural Fire Service has announced that the Fire Danger Rating for the Greater Sydney region is HIGH for tomorrow, Sunday, 3 November, due to a predicted heightened fire risk.
This means permits to burn are suspended until further notice.
A great chunk of the state is also on a HIGH rating. These include Far Western, North Western, Upper Central West Plains, Lower Central West Plains, Northern Riverina, Southern Riverina, Eastern Riverina, Southern Ranges, Illawarra/Shoalhaven, and Monaro Alpine.
The RFS shares what to do during a HIGH Fire Danger Rating:
- Be ready to act.
- There’s a heightened risk. Be alert for fires in your area.
- Decide what you will do if a fire starts.
- If a fire starts, your life and property may be at risk. The safest option is to avoid bushfire risk areas.
