Council congratulates Hawkesbury Local Business Awards 2024 winners
Hawkesbury City Council is pleased to congratulate the 33 winners of the Local Business Awards for 2024.
Many residents gathered together for a merry night of celebration at the awarding ceremony held at the Windsor Function Centre, celebrating the region’s locals and businesses.
Mayor, Councillor Les Sheather, presented many of the awards held on Wednesday, 13 November, including:
- Youth Award – Molly Whitaker, the Pilates Affect
- Business Person of the Year – Cathy Stevenson, Cathy Stevenson & Associates (lawyers)
- Business of the Year – The Y NSW Hawkesbury Oasis (aquatic and recreation centre)
- Community Access and Inclusion Award – In2Motion (allied health)
“Running a business has its own unique set of challenges. It’s not for the faint-hearted and usually the people who make a success of business are both passionate about what they do and are willing to take personal risks,” Mayor Sheather said.
“Two hundred and sixty-one local businesses received award nominations this year, which is a great effort by the community in recognising our local businesses. I congratulate all of the nominees and winners for their extraordinary achievements.”
Hawkesbury City Council sponsored the 2024 Access and Inclusion Award this year, won by allied health providers In2Motion. The award recognizes local businesses making practical efforts to enhance opportunity, accessibility, and inclusion for the Hawkesbury community.
Mayor Sheather said, “When businesses make even small changes to the way they operate, it can make a big difference to the lives of people with disability.”
Last year, Bray Building Pty Ltd claimed the highly sought-after ‘Business of the Year,’ while Monique Calagno from Mousse & Co won the ‘Business Person of the Year.’
In 2022, the Windsor-based hair boutique was also the ‘Business of the Year’ and the best in the ‘Hairdresser’ category.
