The Hawkesbury Library Service is inviting everyone to join artist Greg Hansell in his book launch, ‘Greg Hansell: the Purity of Light’ on Saturday, 13 April, at the Hawkesbury Central Library.

The Hawkesbury-based artist, ‘living legend’, and known to the community as an unassuming gentleman of great talent, will share insights about his works from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. His book is published by author, art historian, and publisher Lou Klepac.

The Hawkesbury Library shares a tidbit about the artist, who has lived in Hawkesbury for more than 40 years: “Many of Greg’s paintings highlight his perceptions of the Hawkesbury and local landscape.”

“He makes his own pigments by crushing rocks and clays and has created earth pastels with colour permanence of the highest rating. He also paints in oil.”
