Government Allocates $76 Million for Saving Koalas Fund

]By Susan Templeman MP[

Some of Australia’s most precious Koalas reside in the Blue Mountains. With deep gullies and old growth trees provide shade, it may help koalas withstand the extreme heat of climate change.

The government is spending $76 million in our Saving Koalas Fund, which includes grants for local groups to protect and enhance koala habitat.

This is one part of our Threatened Species Action Plan, which contains goals like a target of zero new extinctions of plants and animals and ensuring the preservation of at least 30% of our land and 30% of our oceans.
