Glenwood Man Faces High Range Drink Driving Charges After Dural Crash
A 23-year-old Glenwood man is facing high range drink driving charges after he allegedly crashed his vehicle and fled the scene on foot in Dural on Thursday, December 28, 2023.
It is alleged that the man was driving a Ford Ranger on Wyoming Road at 7:40 am when he crashed the vehicle. He then reportedly left the scene on foot. Police and emergency services arrived a short time later and launched a search for the driver.
The Police Dog Unit was called in and eventually tracked the man down in Landford Road, where he was hiding. He was subjected to a roadside breath test, which returned a positive reading.
The man was arrested and taken to Castle Hill Police Station, where he underwent a blood alcohol test that returned a reading of 0.168. This is more than four times the legal limit of 0.05.
The man’s licence was immediately suspended, and he was issued with a Court Attendance Notice to appear in Parramatta Local Court next month.
