Free Movier Screening – Breaker Morant

The classic Australian war film, Breaker Morant, will be screened at Hawkesbury Central Library on Thursday, 14 September at 10am and again at 6pm.

This award-winning film, directed by Bruce Beresford, follows the court martial of three Australian lieutenants who stand accused of executing enemies as a way of deflecting attention from war crimes committed by their superior officers. Based on true events during the Second Boer War, it deals with the first war crime prosecution in British military history. A stirring courtroom drama that intelligently explores the issues of war, politics and injustice.
