Free movie – Top Hat

Top Hat will screen at Hawkesbury Central Library on Thursday, 11 October at 10am and again at 6pm.

Top Hat, the 1935 musical, centres on a romantic misunderstanding between wealthy woman (Ginger Rogers) and American dancer (Fred Astaire). The black and white classic film is the most successful movie of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers partnership. Featuring the well-known song ‘Cheek to Cheek’ written by Irving Berlin, this screwball comedy was reviewed by Variety as ‘one not to be missed.’

The movie, on loan from the National Film and Sound Archive, will screen in the Tebbutt Room, Deerubbin Centre, 300 George Street Windsor. Entry is free. Bookings are not essential, however would be appreciated via Eventbrite www.hawkesburylibrary.eventbrite.com or call 4560 4460. Tea and coffee will be available before the screenings and everyone is also welcome to bring along their own snacks and drinks. The movie runs for 98 minutes and is rated G. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Suitability for viewing is at the discretion of the parent/carer.

Movies @ your Library events are held on the second Thursday of the month, except January.
