Claymation Workshop at Castle Hill Library

Claymation WorkshopIn an era of almost all things digital, techniques such as clay animation or “Claymation” are an art form less tread upon by many, mainly due to the technique’s often labor and time-intensive process.

Still, Claymation produced classics such as the likes of Coraline (2009), Shaun the Sheep Movie (2015), the Wallace and Gromit franchise, Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009), and Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) and the Corpse Bride (2005).

Kids can have the chance to learn the basic tricks and techniques similar to the acclaimed films in a hands-on Claymation Workshop at the Castle Hill Library on Tuesday, 16 January 2024.

The workshop is perfect for children in school years 3 to 6 years old and will run from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM.

“Become your own filmmaker as you learn stop-motion animation tricks and techniques in this hands-on workshop. Design and sculpt your characters from clay, then work as a group using iPads to bring them to life in fun, short movies,” the announcement from the Hills Shire Council indicated.

Tickets cost $15.50 and can be booked online via Eventbrite: Claymation Animation Workshop. The Castle Hill Library is located at 14 Pennant Street in Castle Hill.
