Christmas Quilts: A Holiday Tradition

Two short months ‘til Christmas … and during that time everyone will be busy with decorations, presents, parties and planning delicious food.

It’s hard to sit still looking at the fabulously colorful quilt by Kim – think of Pinatas, Pina Coladas, Spanish dancing, Mexican hats, sunshine and twirling skirts, clapping, dancing and gaiety.

Where did she start with this project? Top righthand- corner; perhaps the centre or was there “a first row” she knows; we don’t!

A lot of activity is happening within the quilting group before Christmas with visits from charities, quilts to be donated to the Illawarra Refugee Programme, The Assistance Dogs Australia Charity and the Christmas Challenge Block, the quilters’ End-of-Year Christmas Party on the 4th December – all before early December!

There is always time to welcome a ‘visitor’ – All are very welcome before – or after Christmas!! Call in, say ‘hello’ and see the team in action at the Community Centre where the meetings are held.

‘New’ members for this year are already very much a part of the Arcadian Quilting team, contributing and sharing their ideas and adding greatly to the friendship circle.

Meet 1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesday of each month at the Community Health Centre, The Glade, Galston. Meetings commence at 9.30am. For further information please call Carole on 9894 7749.
