A Castle Hill man has found himself stunned and starry-eyed after the revelation he had been crowned as the 1st prize winner of a recent Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw, leaving him $200,000 richer.

The New South Wales man scored the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1643, drawn Thursday 25 January 2024.

“You’re joking?!” he exclaimed when officials from The Lott called to reveal the win.

“Sheesh. Far out. Well, that’s pretty life-changing!

“I’m shocked. You buy these tickets, and you always think you could get a call but now that it’s happened, it’s just… wow.

“Unreal. Just unreal. Not a bad $11 to spend!”

When asked what he would do with his newfound treasure, the gleeful man shared he was too stunned to make any concrete plans.

“No idea! I’ll have to think about it,” he shared.

“Maybe I can go on a little holiday.

“I’m going to call my wife now. She’ll be shocked and thrilled! She might help me decide on what we should do with our win.”

His winning entry of two random numbers was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $12.28 million   for draw 1644, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $8.95 million for draw 10829.

In 2023, 117 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $20.6 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.

The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.

In 2023, more than 122.7 million wins took home more than $3.76 billion in prize money from their favourite games at The Lott, including Saturday Lotto, Monday & Wednesday Lotto, Powerball, Oz Lotto, Set for Life, Lucky Lotteries, Keno (SA), Super 66, Lotto Strike and Instant Scratch-Its.

Last financial year, Australia’s official lotteries contributed more than $1.6 billion via state lottery taxes and donations to help community initiatives, such as hospitals, health research, disaster relief and education.
