Alive by name and by nature! We are your local Community Radio and we’re always celebrating something or, as was the occasion last Saturday, encouraging our members to socialise and think of each other as family.
Volunteers like to be valued and the Board at Alive invited presenters and members to join us for the morning over some delicious pancakes topped with plenty of fruit, cream and cinnamon.
All too often Presenters arrive at the station to prepare and then present their show, only having contact with the hosts before and after their show, so this was an ideal opportunity to catch up with old friends and meet a lot of the newer Presenters.
Many friendships have been formed over the years with so many people considering the station such an important part of their lives they have participated and been members for over 20 years.
We were also fortunate last week to be one of the few stations to be chosen by the Communications Minister- Michelle Rowland for a visit.
She was very impressed with the facilities she saw we have available at our site in the Balcombe Heights Estate and provided worthwhile information to listeners about the progress she has made in her portfolio.
If you missed her interview with our Chairman, Andsley Dennis, you can always visit our website, alive905.com.au and download it from our PROGRAM GUIDE- Thursday 25th July at 2pm under the We Get Around Show where Michelle speaks about the 3G Network, and especially for our listeners the progress she is making with Telcos and Councils to improve necessary infrastructure for your mobile reception.
