Boy Airlifted After Wakeboarding Accident on Hawkesbury River

Right before 12:00 PM on Thursday, 9 January, the Mounties Care CareFlight Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to respond to a teenage boy who was injured in a wakeboarding accident in Lower Portland, Hawkesbury.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived at the scene and provided care to the boy, giving a clinical assessment for his injuries to the head.

The patient was flown to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a stable condition.
