Book in a home library visit

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Councillor Yvonne Keane, made a special visit along with a delivery of books to Glenhaven resident, Valerie Forrester, to highlight The Hills Shire Library’s home library service.

Eligible library members, generally those book lovers who are housebound or frail, may apply to have a selection of items delivered monthly by a librarian as part of the home service.

“It was wonderful to meet Mrs Forrester – a long-term resident of The Hills who loves reading and highly values having new books brought to her home each month,” Mayor Keane said.

“Our librarians work with people like Mrs Forrester to understand their interests and select a range of items that suit their tastes and needs.

“If you know someone who is housebound or frail and loves to read, this is a fabulous service to recommend to them.”

The home library service can supply both regular and large print books, audiobooks on CD or MP3, DVDs, CDs and magazines.

This is a free service open to Hills Shire residents who are frail or housebound, and some conditions apply.

Interested residents can complete an online enquiry form on The Hills Shire Library Service websitewww.thehills.nsw.gov.au/library or call Castle Hill Library on 9761 4510 for assistance.
