Free movie – The Tale of Ruby Rose

The award-winning film, The Tale of Ruby Rose, will be screened at Hawkesbury Central Library on Thursday, 12 October at 10am and again at 6pm.

This 1987 thriller is set in the wild and isolated wilderness of the Tasmanian highlands, and centres on Ruby Rose, who is driven to take a harrowing journey out of the mountains to seek help from her lost grandmother.

This film, and its characters, has been heavily influenced by the director’s intense interest in the way isolation has shaped people’s lives.

The movie will be shown in the Tebbutt Room, Deerubbin Centre, 300 George Street Windsor. Entry is free but bookings are essential via Eventbrite www.hawkesburylibrary.eventbrite.com or call 4560 4460.

Tea and coffee will be available before the movie and everyone is also welcome to bring along snacks and drinks. The movie runs for 101 minutes and is rated PG. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Suitability for viewing is at the discretion of the parent/carer.

Movies @ your Library events are held on the second Thursday of the month, except January.
