At Alive 90.5 FM, Recent AGM Andsley Dennis was again elected as the Chairman with Roy Padlin stepping down after providing continuity during a turbulent period.
Several new members were also elected to the Board and they now have an important agenda to continue as Alive strives to fulfil all its community expectations.
More and more people are contacting the station to become presenters and receive training and Sponsors are also seeking to be more involved. Through grant money becoming available we will have the new podcasting studio available for community use by the end of next month.
It has all the latest in technology. More grant money has enabled the purchase of high quality Outside Broadcasting equipment and the community is recognising it as an asset and requesting we attend and broadcast from numerous events. The most recent OB was at Bella Vista Farm on Sunday 10th September supporting Run 4 the Hills in their endeavours to raise money for cancer research.
Membership continues to grow as many people come for a tour of the station and are so impressed with the facilities we have, they are keen to be involved. Students are emailing requests for work experience and the number of Cultural shows has increased in line with the changing demographics of our listenership area.
Community Service Announcements aired for free. Of course, we give a voice to locals with important messages through our interview programs and play music sent to us by aspiring singers. We hope that these are the needs of the community we serve, but if you feel there is something else we can offer please email me at [email protected]
