Wilberforce Park: Discover Hawkesbury’s Playgrounds & Recreations
Wilberforce Park is filled with heritage and brimming with history.
It is a “place of state heritage significance in Hawkesbury as it is a wonderful surviving example of the Great Squares,” according to the New South Wales Government.
The park has a playground for the kids, shaded shelters, and electric barbeques. Historic landmarks dot the area such as the 1819 Macquarie Schoolhouse and the St. John’s Anglican Church, established in 1859. War memorials of the Great War and the Vietnam War can also be found in the park.
Walking and picnics are perfect activities to in the park due to the abundance of large trees. The park does not, however, cater to persons with access needs.
Wilberforce Park is located at 47 George Road, Wilberforce NSW 2756.
