Young Girl in Critical Condition After Car Accident – Hornsby
A young girl is in critical condition after a Car Accident in Sydney’s north today.
Emergency services rushed to Somerville Road in Hornsby Heights around 10:40 am this morning, Sunday, May 25, 2025, following reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a car.
Upon arrival, officers from the Ku-Ring-Gai Police Area Command found an 8-year-old girl lying unconscious on the road. It has been reported that a Holden SUV was the vehicle involved in the incident.
NSW Ambulance paramedics provided immediate treatment to the injured child at the scene before transporting her in critical condition to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead via road.
The driver of the SUV did not sustain any injuries and was taken to Hornsby Hospital for the purpose of mandatory testing.
Police have established a crime scene and have launched a thorough investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding the accident. Authorities have stated that inquiries into the incident are currently ongoing.
