World Day of Prayer

The annual World Day of Prayer in the Hills will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at Baulkham Hills on Friday, 1st March.

The day is celebrated in over 170 countries on the first Friday in March. The movement aims to bring together women of various races, cultures and traditions in a yearly common Day of Prayer, as well as in closer fellowship, understanding and action throughout the year.

This year’s service has been prepared by an ecumenical group of Palestinian Christian women who were invited 10 years ago to write the 2024 program.

Their theme is “I Beg You… Bear With One Another in Love,” based on Ephesians 4:1-7.

World Day Of Prayer

World Day of Prayer has been hosted by churches from different denominations around the Hills area for several years.

Lyn Keane from the Hills organising committee said: “Each year the service is prepared by Christians from many different countries from around the world, sometimes small little islands and sometimes large countries, but everyone has concerns which need prayer.

“It is good to occasionally look past our local issues and give time just one one day for others’ needs.”

The service is being held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Canyon Road, Baulkham Hills at 7.30pm Friday 1st March.

There will be supper afterwards in the parish house. For more details about the World Day of Prayer visit www.worlddayofprayeraustralia.org
