Youth Week 2023 Celebrations Planned By Hills Shire Council

 

Youth Week 2023 is officially running this year from April 20th-30th, and the Hills Shire is getting ready to celebrate with a wide range of events.

The theme this year is ‘connect, participate, celebrate’ – a theme that the Hills Shire Council has attempted to emulate with each event.

“We are very excited to host a number of events in The Hills this Youth Week,” Mayor Peter Gangemi said. “I’m proud that Council is supporting this special week, which is dedicated to thanking our youngest residents for everything that they do for this region.”

The events have been organised with the help of local youth groups and people such as the Hills Youth Army and Sydney Hills Youth Ambassadors Rebecca Yu and Hayley Mogilin.

All events that the Council are holding for Youth Week are free to attend, though some require registration. A list of activities can be found below:

Outdoor Cinema + Youth Festival, presented by Youth Rezolutions: 1pm – 4pm on Tuesday, April 18 at Castle Hill Showground

Family Fun Day, presented by Hills Community Aid: 10am – 1pm on Thursday, April 20 at Balcombe Heights Estate.

Youth, Get Moving!: 3×3 Basketball Competition, supported by Hills Hornets: 1pm – 4pm on Friday, April 21 at Bernie Mullane Sports Complex.

Youth Skate Jam!: 3pm – 6pm on Thursday, April 27 at Crestwood Reserve Skatepark.

Art Therapy presented by Uniting Church Social Care and Community Services: 10am – noon on Saturday, April 29 at Vinegar Hill Memorial Library at Rouse Hill Town Centre.

Youth Goes Live, supported by Rouse Hill Town Centre: 1pm – 4pm on Saturday, April 29 at Rouse Hill Town Centre.
