Wrap with Love Rugs to Türkiye and Syria

Knitters and crocheters who meet regularly at Baulkham Hills Library answered the call-out from Wrap with Love to assist in supplying an order for 5000 rugs to be transported to Syria for victims of the recent devastating earthquakes.

They were able to deliver 28 beautiful rugs to the warehouse in Alexandria last week to meet the deadline. Any additional wraps received will be made available through Wrap with Love to aid organisations assisting Türkiye and Syria.

Some of these rugs (pictured) were sewn together using crocheted and knitted squares generously donated through the library and the others were made by the ladies in the group. They meet fortnightly at the library from 11:15-1:00, new ladies very welcome. Come along and join in for a chat and knitting or crocheting advice if required. You can bring your own project or make squares for a rug. Please contact the library for information. Donations of yarn or completed squares can be left at the library at any time.

A Wrap with Love personal wrap comprises 28 squares, 25cm x25cm sewn together in 4 rows x 7 (100cmx175cm) using wool or acrylic 8 ply.
