The film “Inside Out 2” is coming out this June and the premise of the trailer is that Riley, a 13-year-old girl is trying to get through life while 9 personified emotions run rampant in her head.
When you think about your emotions, do you feel like you’re controlling them, or that they’re controlling you? Jesus tells us “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” In John 14:27, and while this is a great start, this is easier said than done.
Paul gives further advice in Philippians 4:6-7; “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
