What is Dementia?

Sydney Hills District Branch of the Association of Independent Retirees’ next meeting is on Friday 1st July, 2022 from 10.30 for 10.45 at Beecroft Presbyterian Church Hall, Welham Street, Beecroft.

Guest Speaker DR. NIKKI-ANNE WILSON, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Neuroscience Research Australia, Specialising in Dementia, will talk about what dementia is, what it isn’t and how to avoid it.

She will explain the different types of dementia and how to recognise it in others – memory, language and behaviour, discuss risk factors, and introduce strategies you can use to support your brain health. It is not inevitable.

This meeting will be followed by the Investment and Discussion Group commencing at 12.30pm, talking about Changes taking effect in Superannuation rules on July 1st, 2022 and Death Benefits Tax. Keep up to date with changes which will affect you in retirement. Come and meet new friends.
