The New South Wales player won the guaranteed 1st Prize in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10740, drawn on Thursday 22 December 2023.

“How mad is that?!” the winning man cheered when an official from The Lott confirmed his winning news.

“I got an email from The Lott, and I just assumed it was a hoax.

“This means a lot to me. I will be paying off some things and plan on taking a nice holiday.

“This is amazing. It’s a life-changing amount for me.

“It’s going to take a load off our shoulders.

“It’s funny because I usually only purchase a few lottery tickets here and there.

“I had a couple of dollars left over from a lottery purchase, and it obviously worked out.

“I have some bubbles in the fridge, so absolutely no doubt we’ll celebrate tonight!

“What a Christmas present! Thank you so much.”

His winning entry of one random number was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.

In FY22, 169 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $32.95 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.

The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.

In FY22, more than 133.5 million winners took home more than $3.93 billion in prize money from their favourite games at The Lott, including Saturday Lotto, Monday & Wednesday Lotto, Powerball, Oz Lotto, Set for Life, Lucky Lotteries, Keno, Super 66, Lotto Strike and Instant Scratch-Its.

Last financial year, Australia’s official lotteries contributed more than $1.6 billion via state lottery taxes and donations to help community initiatives, such as hospitals, health research, disaster relief and education.
