Bowling ace Harold Mills, or H as he is popularly known, now has an outdoor viewing stand named after him at The Hills Club.
This rare honour is much deserved, as Harold has been a member of The Hills Club for nearly 50 years and has the record for most championship wins at club, zone and state levels: 54 wins.
A club official said it was a remarkable achievement by Harold, who was also employed at the club for 27 years, He was made a life member in 2019.
Harold was a keen spectator on Sunday, May 18 to see the club’s Grade 7 side win the Metro North West Pennant competition. The side will now play in the state finals in late June.
According to the official, “bowls at The Hills Club is flourishing and we are always on the lookout for new bowlers.” The club boasts of three exceptional quality greens, with one synthetic allowing play in all weather conditions.
