The Cumberland Gang Show is Back and Better Than Ever!

Showing exclusively at the Parramatta Riverside Theatre these July School Holidays, the aptly named ‘Off The Record’ promises to be two super fun hours of sensational family entertainment.

This year Gang Show boasts 140 cast members and many more in the support crew. This team of talented Scouts and Guides will wow the audiences with dazzling songs and dance routines, hilarious comedy all backed by a twenty-piece live orchestra. The production will showcase the latest in digital theatre technologies, along with incredible sets and costumes.

Rob Lang, Producer and Director, says “It will be clear what the Gang Show can do when we deliver a simply stunning show that the audiences will absolutely love! They will be laughing in the aisles and tapping their feet to our fresh and fantastic musical variety show.”

Every year Gang Show trains and mentor hundreds of young Scouts and Guides though the process of writing, staging and performing the show.

David Shaw who has grown up performing in the Gang Show and leads the Marketing and Sales team, says “Gang Show is such a brilliant opportunity for young people. Kids build confidence, make life-long friends, learn important skills and have fun all at the same time!”

Tim, from 2nd Baulkham Hills Venturers, has been performing with the show for 7 years and says “you can be friends with people here that you would never be friends with usually, it’s a great way to make friends”

Eloise, with the 1st Kellyville Guides, is in her second year performing with Gang Show.

She says “I like hanging out with my friends and learning new skills”

Siobhan, from 2nd Baulkham Hills Scouts, loves being part of the dance team “I’ve always been a performer, I started dancing when I was three and love performing through Gang Show, it’s just what I love.”

Evelyn, from Crestwood Adventure Guides, is in her second year of Gang Show and says “My guide leader was one of the welfare team here and she encouraged me to join. Over the two years I have been here I have made so many great friends and friendship is forever.”

Participants can also choose to work behind the scenes on everything from music, staging, costuming, makeup, lighting or props. Jacob, from the Kings Langley Rover Crew, is a production team member and item director. He says “for the last three years I have been working in and out of venues in Sydney from the Opera House to the State Theatre, without Gang Show I wouldn’t have been able to achieve my goals. It has definitely inspired me”.

The 2024 Gang Show includes a funky beats party, reaching for the top of a mountain in the most hilarious way and sailing the seven seas on a pirate ship. The show will include original songs and skits written by local Scouts and Guides plus you will be rocking along to tunes by Maroon 5, Pseudo Echo, Bruno Mars, Macklemore, The Jackson 5 and many, many more amazing artists.
