Teen charged break and enters and vehicle theft – Strike Force Sweetenham
A teenager has been charged over a number of alleged break and enters.
Detectives attached to Strike Force Sweetenham were called to a home on Wayfield Way, Glenhaven, where a Mercedes GLC and a Dodge Ram were allegedly stolen at about 4 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024.
At about 5.30am, officers responded to reports of an attempted break-in on a home in Volmer Street, Oatlands, and a home on the same street where access had been gained.
Reported stolen from the home were eight pairs of luxury shoes, worth about $14,400.
A car parked on Volmer Street had also allegedly been broken into where a wallet containing cash was taken.
Shortly after midnight (Tuesday, 11 June 2024), three motor bikes were allegedly stolen during a break-in from a business on Parraweena Road, Caringbah.
At about 8 am today (Monday, 8 July 2024), officers arrested a 17-year-old boy at a home in Dubbo where he allegedly resisted arrest.
He was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with 15 offences, including:
- Aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence x 3
- Attempt Aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence
- Enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse
- Face blackened/disguised with intent commit indictable offence
- Dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception
- Take & drive conveyance w/o consent of owner
- Larceny
- Aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable off-in company-steal etc >$60,000
- Dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception
- Be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner
- Attempt dispose motor vehicle part-theft=serious indictable
- Participate criminal group contribute criminal activity
- Hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty
The teenager was refused bail to appear at a children’s court where he was remanded in custody to re-appear on Monday 15 July 2024.
Police will allege in court the teenager was involved in the incidents with other co-offenders
