St Matthew’s celebrates 200 years

On 11th October 2017 we will celebrate the 200th anniversary of Governor Lachlan Macquarie laying the foundation stone of St Matthew’s Windsor. Planning is currently underway for three significant occasions around that date.

• Hawkesbury Museum Exhibition – ‘The Cathedral of the Hawkesbury’: 200 Years of St Matthew’s Anglican Church 9th Oct 2017 10:00am to 4pm

• A combined schools service on Wednesday 11th October 2017.

• A St Matthew’s 200th Birthday Bash Celebration focussed on McQuade Park on Saturday 14th October 2017.

• A worship service in the St Matthew’s building on Sunday 15th October 2017.

Our latest exhibition looks at the 200-year history of this iconic church. On display are never-before-seen objects including a beautiful 1839 wedding dress and items from the church vault including the original communion cup.

We have formed a Community Bicentennial Team and are inviting help from the wider community to celebrate our bicentennial.

FREE – all welcome.
