St Albans Writers’ Festival 2017

8th to 10th September 2017

Australia’s most intimate literary celebration will see a bounty of the best and brightest of Australian writers gathered in the tiny historic town of St Albans for a weekend rich with talks and ideas surrounding the theme of ‘Escape and Explore’.

This year’s stellar lineup includes: Tom Keneally, Hugh Mackay, Melina Marchetta, Nikki Gemmell, Jane Caro, Sebastian Smee, Caroline Baum, Stan Grant, Mark Tedeschi, Justin Gleeson SC, Fiona McFarlane, and many more.

Journalist and author Tony Jones will deliver the Friday night Opening Address. Special guest Academy Award-winning director George Miller will open a Saturday night screening of Mad Max: Fury Road. There will also be campfire stories, Simmone Logue’s delectable cooking, workshops, talks, and activities to make this the perfect weekend escape.
