Spring Jazz in the park

Proudly sponsored by Hawkesbury City Council, Kurrajong Community Forum presents ‘Jazz in the Park,’ which will entice residents to the Kurrajong Memorial Park on Saturday, 21 October, 5-9pm.

This is the second Jazz in the Park event, following the success of the first held in February this year. The vision of Kurrajong Community Forum member Madeleine Bishop for these concerts was inspired by her father’s fond memories of outdoor jazz concerts.

Madeleine’s idea is consistent with the volunteer community group’s aim; to invigorate the village and encourage a sense of community. By holding Jazz in the Park, there is a great opportunity to provide free professional entertainment in the village for the local community.

The Sydney Jazz Collective will be performing on the night. They are a five member group who will set the relaxing mood for the evening, perhaps even encourage some dancing.

Hawkesbury residents and friends are also encouraged to bring a picnic to enjoy in the park. Kurrajong businesses will also be open to provide food and drink options for visitors.

The Kurrajong Memorial Park, located on Old Bells Line of Road, is family friendly with play equipment for children. Kurrajong Community Forum encourages people of all ages to come along and enjoy a warm spring evening with jazz music, food and fun for all.
