Speaking up: The North West Needs Better Buses
It is no secret that bus services in our growing communities are not fit for purpose. In what has been a continued pattern, we continue to live with the former Government’s failure to properly invest in the necessary infrastructure for our communities. This isn’t about buck-passing, it’s about improving public transport options in our area and reducing traffic.
The Minns-Labor Government recognises the pressing need for better bus services and established the Bus Industry Taskforce last year; a dedicated initiative aimed at listening to the experiences and concerns of local residents. This taskforce shows our commitment to fixing the problems created by population growth that were ignored for far too long.
The establishment of the Bus Industry Taskforce underscores the government’s commitment to inclusivity and community engagement. It provides a platform for all of us, as residents, to voice our experiences and ideas directly to decision-makers. This initiative is not just a promise; it is a tangible step toward fostering a transparent and responsive government.
I’m asking all my fellow residents to take this opportunity to make a difference in the North West. The Bus Industry Taskforce is actively seeking submissions from the public- and your voices matters. Share your experiences, voice your concerns and propose solutions that you feel will transform our bus system for the better.
I have been hard at work advocating for this community and pushing Ministers for better services – but to do this effectively, I need your help by providing the taskforce with your perspective. Make your voice heard.
Submissions to the Taskforce close on the 31st of March and can be made at the QR code next to this article. With your help, we can build better services for our community.
