Smoking Ceremony 2023

Last night a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony was held on the front lawn of the Council Chambers prior to the first Ordinary Council Meeting for 2023.

Senior Darug Community member Erin Wilkins conducted the Welcome to Country, and Uncle Wes, Bigambul Elder, performed the Smoking Ceremony, one of the most significant ancient ceremonies performed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
