Singing for Good Health

Do you love to sing? Are you ready to learn something new? Maybe it’s your time to shine. Circular Keys Chorus is a great group if you want to sing for fun and enjoy good health and harmony.

The chorus welcomes women of any age to join a six week Learn to Sing A Cappella course, commencing on Wednesday evening June 8th. The venue for the course is CKC rehearsal room at St Joseph’s Baulkham Hills.

If you are not sure what a cappella is it is singing without instruments, so the chorus sings in four-part, unaccompanied harmony. The repertoire includes a variety of contemporary and jazz favourites.

Over the past two years Circular Keys Chorus (CKC) adjusted to the constraints of the pandemic while proving that singing is vital for members’ mental and physical wellbeing. While much of 2021 had members confined to Zoom meetings, the chorus is now back rehearsing in person and is ready to welcome new members.

Existing members come from all over Sydney, meeting every Wednesday night at Baulkham Hills to do what they love most, sing in four-part harmony. CKC is a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, an independent, non-profit music education association which teaches people to sing in harmony. It is one of the largest singing organisations for women in the world and one of 33 choruses in Australia.

As an award-winning woman’s acappella ensemble, Circular Keys Chorus has been delighting audiences throughout Australia and the world with since 1995. Acclaimed Master Director Vicki Dwyer says: “Anyone can sing, regardless of experience, and the benefits for personal interaction, social bonding, and community belonging are more important now than ever. We know that more people would sing if they thought they could sing well enough and we are here to get you started on the right notes.”

CKC member Alison Anderson Come said: “along and challenge yourself with us and be surprised. We do more than sing. We entertain! If you’d like to bring a friend or a group of friends, or prefer to come by yourself, we’d love to get to know you.”

“Email us at [email protected] for details of time, place and cost. Look out for information on our social media platforms or flyers at your local shopping centre. Come for the harmonies, stay for the friendships.”

Circular Keys Chorus for women who love to sing rehearses every Wednesday from 7.30pm to 10pm at St Josephs Centre, 33 Barina Downs Rd, Baulkham Hills.
