Shrek The Musical Jr.

Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek The Musical JR., based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical.

It’s a “big bright beautiful world” as everyone’s favourite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairytale, Shrek JR. is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.

Once upon a time, in a faraway swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek. One day, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions.

When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he’s handed a task – if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn’t be complete without a few twists and turns along the way.

“This is how a dream comes true. From page to stage a group of 30 juniors
have come together to produce an exceptional night of entertainment
that will surely mark the continued rise of the amazement that is Fantasia
Showstoppers.

These kids have demonstrated consistent determination,
cooperation and passion that is unmatched even throughout the
professional theatre industry. I encourage you to cheer for our hero, boo the
villain and adore all that our outstanding cast and crew have to offer you.

As the Director, I am immensely proud of our cast and crew and cannot wait
for you to have as much fun watching them on stage as I have had watching
them grow in the rehearsal room. It’s a Big Bright Beautiful World for these
kids, watch out, they’re on the rise!” Director, Tyson Moon
