Sexual Assault Charge

A 35-year-old Castle Hillman will face court today (December 16th 2021) charged over the alleged sexual assault of a woman in Castle Hill.
On Thursday 25 November 2021, officers attached to The Hills Police Area Command commenced an investigation into a report of aggravated sexual assault.
Police were told an 18-year-old woman had allegedly been followed by a vehicle on her walk home about 2 am on Sunday.
It occurred on November 21st 2021 before the driver stopped on Cecil Avenue in Castle Hill and sexually assaulted her.
Following extensive inquiries and assistance from State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad, police attended an address at Castle Hill and arrested a 35-year-old man yesterday (Wednesday 15 December 2021).
During a subsequent search, police seized a firearm and prohibited drugs, as well as other items relevant to the investigation.
The man was taken to Castle Hill Police Station and charged with aggravated sexual assault and possessing an unauthorised firearm.
He was refused bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Thursday 16 December 2021).
