San Giorgio Festival: A Testament To Our Strong, Multicultural Community
Every year, I look forward to the San Giorgio Festival, in Kenthurst – and this year’s celebration was no exception.
Now in its 48th year, the festa is one of the most cherished cultural events in our local calendar, and one of the best examples of what makes our community so special.
The Associazione San Giorgio Martire Di Sydney has built something remarkable in our community. What began as a modest celebration is now a full-day festival that brings thousands together for faith, food, music, and family.
Events like this matter.
They remind us that keeping culture alive isn’t just about tradition — it’s about identity, belonging, and passing something meaningful to the next generation.
It’s always an honour to watch and join in the procession, hear stories from locals, and yes — indulge in the best woodfired pizza in our community.
To the executive team – George Dolores, Anthony Papallo, Vince Papallo, Tony Macri, Andrew Papallo and Mary Macri, and the dozens of volunteers, thank you for keeping the spirit of San Giorgio alive and sharing our traditions with the community.
