RIVERSTONE CENOTAPH

One of oldest cenotaphs in Australia turns 100 years old this weekend at Riverstone and there will be a special service of commemoration tomorrow, Saturday.

A day to remember has been put together by Schofields and Districts Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. together with the Riverstone Historical Society, The Riverstone Memorial Club and Blacktown City Council starting with a flag raising at 4.30am.

The Town Crier will start to call the town to action at 10:30am.

Chamber of Commerce Patron, Bill MacNamara will be laying a wreath with his great-grand children during the ceremony. His brother Jack is one of the names on the Cenotaph.

There will be a Rev Up Rivo car display with up to 60 vehicles, some ex-military at Riverstone Village carpark from 9am to 12pm.
