Football The Prattent Cup: A Tradition Of Community And Charity

Kellyville, NSW – The Prattent Cup, a muchanticipated annual football event, has grown from a friendly match into a significant community fundraiser since its inception in 2018.

Originally a match between the Kellyville Kolts and Winston Hills Bears Men’s Premier League teams, the event now stands as a testament to community spirit and philanthropy, raising substantial funds for local causes.

The event, named after former club president, life member, and club sponsor Steve Prattent, was established to honor his contributions to the club. Over the past seven years, The Prattent Cup has successfully raised over $250,000, aiding local families and charities in need.

This year’s proceeds will benefit The Sanctuary – The Hills Women’s Shelter, a critical community service that offers support and shelter to women and children fleeing domestic violence and homelessness. Established in 2016, The Sanctuary, in partnership with Women’s Community Shelters and the Hills Shire community, provides a safe haven where residents can rebuild their lives with dignity and security.

The Kellyville Kolts’ support for The Sanctuary aligns with the club’s values of community and resilience. The shelter not only offers refuge but also empowers women and children to lead independent lives free from fear. The Kolts’ involvement ensures that every contribution directly aids those in need, fostering a spirit of cooperation and mutual support within the Hills District.
