Our Government understands the needs of small business. That’s why we have brought forward tax cuts for businesses with a turnover of less than $50 million. This reduces the company tax rate for small and family business to 25 per cent in 2021-22 rather than from 2026-27. This means small businesses can reinvest which will create more jobs, boost productivity and grow the economy for everyone.

Energy Reform

I know many people are concerned about electricity prices and that’s why in October we announced a package to reform the National Electricity Market. This will:

 Stop the price gouging by the big energy companies by banning late payment penalties

 Create a price safety net to protect customers

 Back investment in reliable generation

Greenway Park

Work has commenced on the Greenway Park upgrade. This is part of a $2.6 million upgrade that I secured for the community to returf the oval and build a new club house. This will benefit AFL, Baseball, Cricket, Ruby League, Athletics, and Netball players across Berowra.

Out and About

I brought The Hon. Melissa Price, Minister for the Environment to the Berowra electorate to discuss our iconic bush trails and responsible cat management in the community. We also met with local community members to discuss the importance of the Hawkesbury River to our region.

The day before Remembrance Day I was honoured to unveil a new memorial at Cherrybrook to commemorate the sacrifice made by the dozen Indians who served in the first Australian Imperial Force in World War I. This memorial is the first of its kind in New South Wales. It is the result of a unique partnership I supported, between the Hindu Council of Australia and the Hornsby RSL Sub- Branch, with a grant from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs. I was also pleased to present another four local organisations with grants to commemorate the 100 th anniversary of the Armistice that ended the First World War.
