Pink Round Fundraiser
Meanwhile, the Hills Basketball Association raised more than $1600 from their annual Pink Round to support the Breast Cancer Network Australia. The week-long fundraiser, held earlier this month, also raised awareness of the disease among players, coaches and spectators.
The association is one of the most active in NSW, with 380 local competition matches worked off each week during the season, involving more than 5,500 players across different age groups and divisions.
The HBA has seven seniors, 24 juniors, and a wheelchair representative team competing in Basketball NSW tournaments and events.
The association, formed 40 years ago, runs one of the largest development programs in the country through its popular Hornets Academy which attracts more than 1500 children every week.
